“I am delighted, in fact, enchanted with this glamorous, fabulous old town. I’ve been here about three hours but have already wandered about the Vieux Carre and noted many exciting possibilities. Here surely is the place that I was made for if any place on this funny old world.”

–Tennessee Williams

Calling all Saints and Sinners!

Become one of our Archangel Members (Please Make this a link to Vendini) to support the Festival. At the $250 Sinners level, you’re securing your weekend pass ($150 value with additional perks this year) and you’re contributing to our operating expenses. There are additional levels to suit everyone’s budget and interests.

We are excited to announce a new format for the Saints and Sinners Literary Festival in 2015. The Festival will take place within the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival. There will still be exclusive content and social networking opportunities for all Saints and Sinners participants along with expanded opportunities for informational content and entertainment.

This year, your weekend registration to Saints and Sinners has some added perks. The SAS weekend pass includes a welcome reception on Friday, March 27 at a new and exciting location—The Historic Gallier House on Royal Street in the French Quarter. Your registration also includes admittance to all Saints and Sinners Literary panel discussions, and our reading series sponsored by the J.B. Harter Trust. These panels and readings will take place on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29. Additionally, there will be a Saints and Sinners reception on Saturday, March 28th in the Vieux Carre room at the top of the Hotel Monteleone.

To celebrate the inclusion of Saints and Sinners within the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival, all weekend pass holders will also receive a panel pass to the TW/New Orleans Literary Festival good for admittance to any panels that take place on Friday – Sunday.

Some of the discussions you can partake with your Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival pass include: The Warrior as Writer: Literature of Recent Wars; Sweetness and Savagery: Writing the Women of the South; and discussions commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans, the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and a featured interview with author and filmmaker John Waters. We will also extend a 20% discount on any additional tickets to the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival events that you might enjoy. Possibilities include a special Tennessee Williams tribute reading at the Old Ursuline Convent featuring readers including John Waters and John Patrick Shanley; a special food/reading event at the world-renowned Antoine’s Restaurant commemorating their 175th anniversary; music programming at the famed Palm Court Jazz Café; and many more including a Williams birthday celebration on March 26. A complete schedule of the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival events will be available online by early January.

Our new SAS format will make it possible for you to enjoy more panels, workshops, discussions, special events and opportunities to commune with like-minded practitioners, scholars and artists.

As Tennessee Williams was a FAMILY man himself, we know he would take pride in welcoming SAS to his namesake Festival! Upcoming e-news to provide hotel/housing information and registration details.
