James Lovejoy has driven cabs, washed dishes, worked on a fishing boat, and taught in an alternative high school, where he suspects he learned more from his students than they did from him. Prior to publishing his first novel, My Molly Life, he has written for the drawer and his cat. He is interested in historical minutiae, natural history, gardening (and eating the results!), Afropop, and consciousness. A northwest native, he lives and writes in Tacoma, Washington.
