Clayton Delery

Clayton Delery is a Louisiana native and a (nearly) lifelong resident of the Deep South. He has published articles and essays in a variety of popular and scholarly journals, and is the author of two books of LGBT+ nonfiction: The Up Stairs Lounge Arson (McFarland 2014) and Out for Queer Blood: The Murder of Fernando Rios and the Failure of New Orleans Justice (Exposit 2017). He is currently working on a book about AIDS activism in New Orleans, and he has recently partnered with McFarland Publishing to be general editor of a nonfiction series about LGBT+ life in the United States.
