R. J. Lee is a native of Natchez, Mississippi, graduating with a B.A. from the University of the South (Sewanee). He now lives in Oxford, Mississippi as a gay widower after residing in New Orleans for thirty years. Since 1992, he has had 17 novels published and has been an active acrylic artist. His latest novel, The Majestic Leo Marble, details his journey from being a closeted young boy in Mississippi to living an authentic life as an “out” gay man, starting at twenty-six in the Crescent City. Kirkus Reviews says: “A richly textured saga of a gay everyman moving from self-doubt to pride.”
