Gary Zebrun lives in Providence, Rhode Island. His new novel, Hart Island, is set on New York City’s potter’s field off the coast of the Bronx. Its main character, a gay ferry boat captain, hauls coffins from the city to the burial ground. It is part love story, part crime novel, and part mystery. Gary’s first novel, Someone You Know, was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award. He is a recipient of Yaddo and MacDowell fellowships; his work has appeared in The New York Times, New Republic, Iowa Review, The Believer, Sewanee, The Common, American Scholar, and elsewhere.
